In response to a number of letters and emails about biofuels following the vote in the European Parliament's Environment Committee on 11 July to limit the production of some crop-based biofuels, Struan's standard reply is below:
A Euro MP has asked the European Commission to think again about their ban on incandescent light-bulbs. Scottish Conservative MEP Struan Stevenson issued the call after holding high-level talks in Strasbourg with Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger to highlight health problems associated with the widespread introduction of low-energy light bulbs.
Speaking from the European Parliament's monthly voting session in Strasbourg, Scottish Conservative Euro MP Struan Stevenson has warned that the SNP Government's energy policy risks becoming a laughingstock across Europe.
Struan has written letters to the Vatican and Scottish Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop regarding the proposed split of Scotland's Catholic archives between sites in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
