US attempts to conceal fate of Iraqi hostages exposed by Euro MP

A senior Euro MP has expressed astonishment at what he describes as “US attempts to conceal information about seven hostages, including six women, abducted in Iraq.” Struan Stevenson, a Scottish Conservative MEP and President of the European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with Iraq, has said that he was surprised by US Secretary of State John Kerry's response to a question about the hostages when he said the information was “classified”.

Struan Stevenson MEP takes a tour of Dogs Trust rehoming centre

On Friday (6th December) MEP for Scotland, Struan Stevenson, visited the Glasgow Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre and was greeted by a number of VIPs (very important pooches). The MEP made many new furry friends at the centre, including Pip an adorable little crossbreed terrier.

Conference on Iran in solidarity with the Iranian Democratic opposition

In a major conference held at the European Parliament on Wednesday, December 4, human rights violations in Iran, the Geneva nuclear agreement, and the massacre and hostage-taking in Camp Ashraf were debated in the presence of a large number of MEPs from various political groups and with the participation of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Letter to the European Commission on EU tax preferences for French rum

Struan has written a letter to Algirdas Semeta, European Commissioner for Taxation, Customs, Statistics, Audit and Anti-Fraud, about recent proposals by the Commission to renew excise tax preferences in favour of French rum that may harm Scotch Whisky exports.
