Let the British people have their say
Dear Sir,
The European Constitution – now renamed the Lisbon Treaty – will have a profound impact on our lives.
In their 2005 General Election manifesto, Labour and the Liberal Democrats promised us a chance to have our say on the document. Yet they both reneged on that pledge.
We have an important opportunity to demand the referendum we were promised this Thursday by voting for the only Party that can deliver the promise all three parties made in 2005.
We are campaigning for Gordon Brown to make his next u-turn an EU-turn by putting the Treaty to the people; and we are also calling for a General Election as soon as possible. We believe the British people should be given their say.
Don’t let Gordon Brown off the hook by voting for a fringe Party. We are the only Party that can deliver a referendum on whether more powers should be passed to the EU.
Yours faithfully,
Struan Stevenson
